Join us for this very special FREE event at Little Bird Gardens celebrating National Honey Bee Day! Alan Zelez will guide you through the process of interacting with bees safely while removing the gold from their hive with an actual honey extraction demonstration! This is delicate maneuvering, but not hard to learn! Alan will share his experience with bees and will talk about how to identify different species, how to tell the difference between a drone and a queen, why bees swarm, and facts you may not know like, only bumble bees can pollinate a tomato plant, and that generally speaking bees are gentle and kind – just like us. We’ll also be sharing tips on DYI garden features and plants that encourage bees to visit by Little Bird Gardens, Susan Carper. This will be a honey-sweet afternoon!
